Abstract

In today's societies, universities and higher education centers are considered one of the most key structural institutions for comprehensive development and growth. Because the transformation of societies is tied to the education of the people of that society, and based on the educational and training system of a society, social order and discipline take on an institutional form, and the general public, especially the youth, move towards a culture of progress and development. In this regard, the aim of the present study is to examine the components of civilization-building in universities and higher education from the perspective of Imam Khomeini (RA). This study was conducted using the meta-synthesis method, which used the seven-step Sandelowski and Barroso meta-synthesis method for data analysis, and based on the resource search strategy, 29 sources out of 312 sources were suitable for the final meta-synthesis. The research findings also include 8 main categories including independence, insight and conscious action, humanization, scientific expertise, knowledge of religious principles, elevation of the country, people-centeredness, and unity, which were compiled into a coherent framework of Imam Khomeini's statements during the years of the revolution, and ultimately suggestions were presented to policymakers in the field of higher education.
