Developing the model of Islamic education based on the intellectual system of Ayatollah Khamenei

Abstract

Education is one of the most central issues in any state and society, therefore Ayatollah Khamenei as the highest person in Iran's political system and one of the prominent personalities of the Islamic world to raise it many times in his statements. This research is qualitative and thematic analysis. The field of study is 491 statements of Ayatollah Khamenei during his leadership period. The data were analyzed by thematic analysis method and then a process model of Islamic education was developed. During this research, 11 organizing themes and 66 basic themes were identified, which include 5 inclusive themes. The results of the research confirm that in the opinion of Ayatollah Khamenei, Islamic education and training has scientific, philosophical and religious foundations. The most important elements of education are the agent (teacher), the subject (student) and the method of education. Achieving the final and intermediate goals requires the adoption of a suitable strategy. Continuous monitoring and evaluation is an important and necessary action to be taken. This model can be positioned at the forfront of the movement to transforme the coutry’s education system at the level of Islamic civilization.
